The acquisition of GTS will add 254 staff and approximately £14m revenues to the Group and ESG have signed a preferred Supplier Agreement with Bureau Veritas which will maintain links going forward. The deal is expected to complete in December 2009.

Mark Silver, Chief Executive Officer, Inspicio Ltd commented: “GTS has an excellent reputation in the industry for quality and reliability and as such is a great fit into our business and an exciting addition to the Inspicio Group. This latest investment further emphasises our commitment to the international inspection and testing market. Since the 3i backed buyout in February last year, Inspicio has made a number of acquisitions which have all been successfully integrated into one of our three divisions. GTS is a good match for our Environmental Testing Division both from an outlook and culture perspective, as well as from its service offering and customer base.”

Alex Sleeth, CEO Environmental Scientifics Group said: “Environmental Scientifics Group has been formed from an amalgamation of market-leading brands from within the Inspicio Group, including Scientifics, Soil Mechanics and the Environmental Services Group. The addition of GTS will add another 254 experienced and skilled employees to the Group, giving us an unrivalled position as the leading provider of environmental inspection, testing and consultancy services.

GTS’s commitment to quality and customer service fits perfectly with the ethos we have within Environmental Scientifics Group and we look forward to welcoming them. The addition of their UKAS accredited laboratories to our existing count of nineteen will enable us to expand our range of services as well as improve our customer experience nationwide.”
