As we surpass the first quarter of 2020, ALS speak for all when we say that that is has been a tumultuous time for the whole nation and it has highlighted that we take our daily lives for granted.
Covid-19 (Coronavirus) is affecting businesses across industries and across the globe, and the food industry is no exception. In light of the outbreak, food companies are having to make extra efforts to ensure the continuation of food production in the safest way possible.
Although the panic-buying in recent weeks has caused temporary product shortages, the nation’s overall food supply is in a good shape to weather this storm. Food chain workers, including those involved in production, processing, distribution, sale and delivery of goods have been named as Key Workers by the UK Government as they play a vital part in keeping supermarkets well stocked. Food companies are making changes to their operations in response to increasing demands and ALS are actively supporting food businesses to fulfil this demand.
Matthew Masters, General Manager Western Europe said; ‘Continuation of the business activities is a key priority for many reasons, but in these unprecedented times it is really linked back to our business purpose of Science, Service and Assurance. Fundamentally our activities, our purpose is to - Assure the Community. Our services and results are used to ensure the health, wellbeing and safety of the public. To continue to assure the community we as a business need to continue to provide testing our clients can rely on.’
ALS have seven laboratories located across the UK offering UKAS accredited testing with a friendly and flexible sample collection service strategically covering the UK and Ireland providing our customers with a nationwide service that is hard to beat.
So whilst we witness dramatic events in the world right now and adapt to the ever changing needs of the food industry, ALS are constantly working with our clients to make sure that we offer the very best value-for-money service that we can, whilst delivering a the ‘ALS Experience’ based around service, value and reliability. That’s why we see ourselves as having the ‘Right Solutions’ to be your ‘Right Partner’ for laboratory testing.
