ALS proudly unveiled its new ‘Full5en5e’ Sensory Facility at a Grand Opening event in Rotherham last Thursday 19th September. The event was hosted in a luxury marquee adjacent to the ALS site and was attended by a wide selection of ALS clients who were invited to celebrate the opening.
The ALS’ team of experts delivered a number of informative presentations on sensory testing and as well as providing clients with a guided tour around the brand new laboratory. The state of the art facility includes 12 bespoke booths, a kitchen preparation area and a workshop area, allowing ALS to offer a wide range of sensory testing, cooking validation and new product development solutions.
The event also allowed clients to try out their own sensory testing capabilities by undertaking a number of blind taste tests in a ‘how refined are your taste buds?’ challenge. These challenges included comparing budget brands against premium – with some surprising results! – as well as guessing the secret ingredients to a specially baked ‘mystery cake’.
Commenting on the opening, Alexia Masters, ALS Group Quality and Consultancy Manager, said:
“We have worked tirelessly to develop the Sensory & Consultancy Department and are very proud to be able to offer our clients an all-encompassing consultancy services, sensory testing & training facility. The Open Day was a great opportunity for many of our valued clients to see our outstanding facilities. There was a real buzz during the event and we felt that it was an unquestionable success”.
