ALS expands its pharmaceutical testing lab at Ely

Tuesday 30th June 2015

ALS Food & Pharmaceutical is delighted to unveil exciting plans to expand its dedicated pharmaceutical testing laboratory in Ely, Cambridgeshire.

Work is now underway to double the size of the existing facility to 12,000 sq. ft. which is scheduled to be completed in early 2016.

The new enlarged laboratory will enable ALS to significantly expand analytical capacity for both microbiological and chemistry samples and provide additional space and conditions for clients’ storage stability trials.

The expansion comes only a year after ALS invested over £3m in a major extension of its nearby laboratory in Chatteris and is a further example of the company’s rapid growth in the UK.

Commenting on the plans, Ely’s General Manager Sharon Hanly remarked, “We are delighted that ALS are investing in this project. Ely has continued to grow its client base over the past 5 years, building an enviable reputation for providing a tailored and proactive service. The new facilities will allow us to further develop our existing client relationships whilst also allowing us to cater for new business. We have an excellent team of analysts at Ely and this investment is a great vote of confidence in their ability.”

ALS has worked closely with the building contractors throughout the planning process to ensure that the existing laboratory will remain fully operational throughout the expansion with no disruption to service.
