ALS General Manager shortlisted for 'First Women' Award

Tuesday 26th April 2016

We are delighted to report that Sharon Hanly, General Manager of ALS's dedicated pharmaceutical testing laboratory in Ely, has been shortlisted for a major business award.

The 'First Women Awards', which is supported by the CBI, is the UK’s leading awards programme for senior-level business women and professionals. Since its conception in 2005, the awards have grown in influence and impact and enjoy the support of many of the UK’s leading firms, industry bodies and inspirational business leaders.

Sharon has been shortlisted for the First Woman award in the Science and Technology category. She joined ALS - formerly known as Eclipse Scientific Group - as a 16-year old school leaver before working her way up to become one of the first female General Managers in the sector in 2006. During that time, she has engineered the growth of a successful, accredited, GMP compliant, multi-million pound testing facility that Sharon helped to select and build from scratch over a decade ago.

This consistent growth has led to ALS investing over £2m in a major site expansion project at Ely which will be completed in June and enable Sharon to oversee the next chapter in the company's exciting history.

The next stage in the process is the Judging Day which will be held on Thursday 5th May, 2016 at the Lancaster London hotel. This is then followed by the awards dinner on 22nd June, 2016.
